It’s Unclear Who Is To Blame For The Biker-SUV Brawl That Occurred Last Week In NYC. Since 4 Bikers Have Been Arrested, And 3 Officers Are Found To Be Part Of The Biker Group, Where Does Legal Responsibility For The Accident Fall?

On September 29, 2013, Lien hopped in his SUV with his wife and 2-year-old to celebrate their anniversary. He attests that a group of motorcycles surrounded his vehicle, intentionally slowing his speed, bumped into him with the biker rear tire, finally causing him to run over one of the bikers, which broke his spine and both legs. Christopher Cruz is the biker fighting off accusations of intentional slowing which caused the accident, of unlawful imprisonment and other misdemeanors. After Lien tried to escape the scene, the bikers are accused of chasing him down and attacking him once he became stuck in traffic. Lien suffered beating wounds from the bikers.

Even though three off-duty officers were found to be part of the group of bikers, it was one hailed hero named Sergio Consuegra who finally broke up the brawl. Sergio had just left church, and wanted to make it clear he came in peace. While city officials commended the individual for his bravery and peacemaking, he insisted he was not a hero and wished he could have done more.

For obvious reasons, anyone injured in a serious brawl that involves bikers and vehicles would be wise to seek qualified counsel from an experienced Broward County Auto Accident Attorney who best understands the intricacies in a complicated case such as this.
