An early morning accident between a police car and a school bus occurred in Fort Lauderdale, but no one was hurt, according to the Sun-Sentinel. The Broward County auto accident occurred on Davie Blvd. a little before 6:30 a.m. when the police car, which had its emergency lights activated, attempted a turn into a gas station but crashed into the bus. The head-on collision was a scare, but only one student was on the bus, and no injuries were reported. The officer was reportedly responding to a call about an emergency at the gas station at the time of the Ft. Lauderdale accident.
Although the officer was not hurt in this accident, many accidents involving on-duty officers result in injury. Since the officer was on-duty at the time of the crash, he may have been able to file a workers’ compensation claim for his injuries if he had been hurt.
