Pedestrian Killed In Fatal Accident In Front Of Swap Shop In Lauderhill

Lauderhill police reported a 25-year-old man was killed crossing Sunrise Boulevard on Thursday morning.

The 33-year-old unidentified driver of a gray 2009 Lexus remained at the scene and told police that she was traveling eastbound in the 3400 block of Sunrise Boulevard.  Captain Rick Rocco said.the pedestrian had walked into her path,

Mark Permenter was walking north across the six-lane road when the fatal accident occurred.  Permenter died at the scene.

Permenter was not carrying any identification at the time of the accident when he was fatally hit by the vehicle.  Shortly after the accident police learned his identity.

Lauderhill investigators were photographing the damaged vehicle.  Photos were taken of the front-end damage, a cracked window and torn side-view mirror.

The crash happened near the Swap Shop entrance on Sunrise Boulevard.

Authorities are looking for witnesses who may have seen the crash and are urged to call Lauderhill police at 954-497-4700.
