Palm Beach County Sergeant Speaks About Daughter's Wrongful Death Case

Posted on Jun 23, 2010

A Palm Beach County sheriff's sergeant and his wife won a $6 million jury verdict in West Palm Beach this month in connection with the wrongful death of their 16-year-old daughter in a Palm Beach County accident seven years ago, according to the Palm Beach Post.  Sergeant John Kazanjian, who is also head of the local police union, said that the recent jury trial wasn't about obtaining money, but about getting "everything on record" and talking about how great his daughter Kaitlin was.  In the fatal Palm Beach County car accident, Carlos Pozo, now 23, was driving on a residential street in PGA national at speeds as high as 100 mph when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree.  Kaitlin Kazanjian was killed in the tragic crash, and Pozo was later found guilty of vehicular homicide.  He is currently serving a 5-and-one-half year adult prison sentence.
