Man Killed Riding His Motorcycle in I-595 Accident

Posted on Apr 11, 2011

On Friday, April 1, 2011, Nicholas Fullerton,19, took a break from his job at the Lauderdale Yacht Club and hopped on his 2009 Yamaha motorcycle. While traveling west on Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale, he lost control and crashed into a concrete wall. Fullerton was thrown over the wall and fell about 20 feet onto a grassy shoulder. He was taken to Broward General Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Mark Wysocky said, "At this point, we don't believe another vehicle was involved". He said that this Florida motorcycle accident remains under investigation.

Fullerton graduated from South Plantation High School in 2010. Shannon Grace, a close friend, said Fullerton was assistant captain of the hockey team his senior year.

Grace said, "He loved the beach. He loved riding his motorcycle. He loved being with his friends." "He always made you laugh, no matter what."

Fullerton had intended to join the Navy because he wanted to serve his country said Grace. Stuart Wenz, who is a bartender at the Lauderdale Yacht Club, said he had been working with Fullerton on Friday, just before the accident. "We were having a great day, talking about sports," Wenz said.

We are sorry to hear of this tragic accident, and the Law Offices of David Benenfeld would like to wish the Fullerton family our deepest sympathy and condolences during this very difficult time.
