Man and Woman Killed When Motorcycle Flew off Exit Ramp

DANIA BEACH, Fl:  On Friday 7/29/11 a man and woman were traveling southbound on Interestate 95 when they flew off the exit ramp leaving them both dead at the scene after plunging 38 feet to the tracks below.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the accident to determine how the motorcycle flew off the overpass and landed onto the train tracks. Police said it is too early to determine the cause of the crash or if there was another vehicle involved.  So far no witnesses have come forward.

A CSX train conductor first spotted the bodies. Tri-Rail, CSX and Amtrak had temporarily stopped service in the area, for the morning commute and by 12 noon police had cleared the scene and all tracks were reopened.

Investigators identified the two killed as Luis Gustavo, 24 of Southwest Ranches, and his passenger, Stephanie A. Fredericks, 20 of Sunrise.
