Good Samaritans Help Injured Crash Victim on I-95

Hollywood, Fla. (WSVN) – On Sunday afternoon, July 11, 2011, in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95, near the Sheridan Street exit, Hollywood Police said a tire blew on a sport utility vehicle driven by a man causing the driver to lose control of his vehicle and it rolled over.
According to police, the man was trapped in the vehicle and had passengers with him. A witness Alexander Crawford submitted pictures of a crowd of people gathered around the flipped SUV. "I always carry my camera with me, so I hopped out and decided I could probably help out in some way," he said. "I watched about 20 guys pushing the vehicle, trying to get one driver out that was still stuck in the car."
The driver had tools in the back of his car so the bystanders used them to help free the trapped man. The rest of his family was able to get out safely.
Rescue crews transported the man to Memorial Regional Hospital with injuries to his head. Thanks to the Good Samaritans who helped free the South Florida man from his vehicle, he is now recovering in the hospital.
There were four other passengers in another vehicle also involved in the crash that were transported to the hospital.
