Last month on Friday, February 18, a tragic accident took place on the streets of Fort Lauderdale. A cyclist was training for a triathlon when a car crashed into her.
According to witnesses, 35-year-old Stephanie Goodrich was the victim in this Florida bicycle and car accident. Goodrich was crossing the A1A and Hibiscus Avenue intersection when she was sideswiped by a Saturn sedan. Witnesses indicate that the driver of the vehicle stopped; however, the driver has still not been cited for this accident that left the cyclist badly injured.
Stephanie Goodrich sustained severe brain damage in this crash and was left in a coma; however, she did come out of the coma and underwent brain surgery. According to Goodrich's family, she is a Stanford graduate with an MBA from Duke and is now left with severe brain damage.
Stephanie Goodrich's mother is asking for people to come forward to help them understand what happened in this bicycle accident. The family has many questions that still aren't answered, but believes that witnesses and the media may be able to help them solve the case in order to bring justice to their injured relative.
Goodrich has had multiple brain surgeries and has a long road ahead of her as she will be undergoing extensive physical therapy - hoping to learn how to walk and talk again.
The Law Offices of David Benenfeld is saddened to hear about this tragic Fort Lauderdale accident, and we would like to wish Stephanie Goodrich a complete recovery. We also send out thoughts to the victim's family during this difficult time.
