Fatal Hit and Run in Hollywood

A tragic ending for Carlie Ann Stipp, 30 from Hollywood, who was crossing the street at Buchanan Street..

Roberto Lorenzo Jimenez, 73, a Hollywood man was arrested after this fatal traffic accident that killed Stipp.

Lorenzo’s was driving a black 1998 Dodge van south on State Road 7 about 9:50 p.m., Wednesday October 27, 2011, when the van struck Stipp. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses called the police who stopped the van at North 62nd Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard and arrested Lorenzo, Lt. Norris Redding said.

Lorenzo was charged by Hollywood police after leaving the scene of the accident that killed Stipp.

Lorenzo was given a $50,000 bond after he appeared before Broward Court Judge John Hurley. If Lorenzo is released before the trial, he will not be allowed to drive and will be required to wear a GPS monitor.
