Crash in Broward County on I-75 Kills 3 including Unborn Baby and Injures Two

On Friday August 19, 2011, a wrong way crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 killed three people, including a pregnant mother and her unborn child. In addition, a man traveling with the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident also included another sedan.
Before the crash occurred the police sent out an alert to be on the look out for a car traveling the wrong way in the area.
The three victims were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital. The woman and her unborn child died later at the Ryder Trauma Center at JMH.
The crash forced the closure of I-75 for five hours and left the highway shut down during the morning commute, between Miramar Parkway in Broward County and Miami Gardens Drive, in Miami-Dade.
Two other adults remain hospitalized, and their conditions remain unknown.
The police have not released any details about the crash.
