Crane Collapses at Ft. Lauderdale Construction Site

Posted on Dec 22, 2008

The crane being used to construct a building at 500 NE 4 Avenue has collapsed.  The CBS news Chopper 4 was actually responsible for spotting a large bent section of the crane extending from the upper floors of the building and informing officials.  All personnel were cleared from the area and no injuries have been reported.

This is the second crane related accident in South Florida this month.  On April 3, two men were injured when a small crane moving an air conditioning unit collapsed onto the roof top of the Turnbery Isles.
