Chain-Reaction Crash in Wellington Injures Three in Palm Beach County

Posted on Feb 08, 2010

Two civilians and a deputy suffered injuries in a Palm Beach County car accident Tuesday that involved three vehicles, according to WPTV.  The Wellington crash occurred when a black Audi SUV crashed into the deputy's patrol car, which was pulled over because the deputy was assisting another driver whose car had broken down.  Upon impact, the police cruiser crashed into the disabled vehicle.  Although the patrol car had its emergency lights activated, it appeared as if the driver of the Audi did not see the cruiser in time, says one Palm Beach deputy.  Although the deputy did not suffer serious injuries, she was taken to the hospital for treatment.  A passenger from the police vehicle who was doing a ride-around required hospitalization for injuries, as well as the driver of the broken down car.
