Car Crash into Davie Condo

Tracie Scharf, a Davie resident drove her black Acura sedan into a neighbor’s condo on South University Drive, at the Sundance condominiums Tuesday.
Scharf was on her way home when trying to pull into a parking spot. Her foot slipped off the brake causing her car to crash into the building. Davie Police Sgt, Christopher Chastain said, “She was wearing flip-flops. She hit the gas and the car lunged into the building.” No one was hurt.
Chastain said, “She had no medical conditions or other impairments. Her footwear may have been the contributing factor or the heavy rain we’ve had on road conditions.”
No one was home at the time officials said.
This was the second car incident that crashed in Davie this week. A woman had a similar brake-gas mix-up and drove into Dunkin Donuts shop on Weston Road.
There were not injuries in either accident and neither driver was charged.
