A West Palm Beach Palm Tran Bus and Truck Crash Send 10 to Hospital

Monday morning, September 19, 2011, a pickup truck and Palm Tran bus in West Palm Beach sent the pickup driver and 10 bus passengers to local hospitals.
There were no life-threatening injuries and authorities reported everyone on the bus had been treated and released.
When the accident occurred the truck’s driver had to be cut out of the pick-up’s cab. It was feared that the driver had severe injuries but that was not the case.
A passenger on the bus, Amber Soler, a college student said “It was real scary”. She described seeing one woman flying to the floor.
The bus was headed east on Palm Beach Lakes. A white pick-up entered the intersection northbound from Seventh Street when the buses front end collided with the driver’s side of the pick-up.
Palm Tran will conduct an investigation of the accident. The driver of the bus was medically checked out and released.
One witness to the accident said she believed the pick-up truck driver ran the light as the bus driver slammed on the brakes.
