Car Killed Tamarac 14-Year-Old Boy Riding Skateboard

According to investigators, a 14–year-old boy from Sunrise was killed Saturday night by a car while riding his skateboard in Tamarac.

The driver of the Honda Accord was William Corsover, 68, of Coral Springs.  The accident occurred before 10:00 p.m.  Corsover was traveling southbound on Pine Island Road and made a turn onto westbound McNab Road.

The 14-year-old Brandon Campbell was crossing Pine Island Road on his skateboard near or in the crosswalk when he was struck by Corsover.

Corsover told the police that he did not see the 14-year-old but realized he had hit something.  He then turned his car around and went back to the scene to see what he had hit.  Police were called and Corsover remained at the scene until the detectives arrived.

Campbell was takend by Tamarac Fire Rescue where he was transport to North Broward Medical Center.  He died shortly after arriving at the center.

The investigation is ongoing and any charges against Corsover are pending the completion of the investigation.
