Parkland May Become First City in Broward County to Ban Texting While Driving

Parkland may become the first Broward County municipality to place a ban on text messaging while driving, according to the CBS 4 news website.  The ban was approved in a unanimous vote among city commissioners in September, and a final vote is scheduled for tonight.  If approved, the ban will take effect immediately, making texting while driving illegal in Parkland and fining violators of the law up to $100.
