Panama City Auto Accident Sends Two Women To Hospital With Injuries

Auto accidents can range from slight fender-benders to more serious, injury-causing accidents to even tragic, fatal accidents, with the factors affecting such results sometimes being only seconds worth of driver actions and decisions.  Drivers choosing to continue straight after missing a turn rather than quickly cutting off cars in an attempt to make it to the desired roadway, for example, may save themselves or others from injury.  Sunday, injuries could not be avoided when a silver Honda collided with a green Ford in Panama City, Florida.  According to Kristina Hamilton of the News Channel 7 (WJHG) website, the Panama City auto accident occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m. at the Baldwin and Jenks Avenue intersection and sent two women to local hospitals.  A Florida Highway Patrol trooper reported that the driver of the Honda was traveling in the turn lane when she apparently changed her mind and continued straight at the last minute.  The passenger side of the Honda, in turn, struck the driver's side of the Ford, trapping the driver of the Ford inside her vehicle for over thirty minutes.  Bay County Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove the woman from the vehicle, who was then transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The Honda's driver sustained injuries in the auto accident, as well.
