Palm Beach & Broward County Experience Population Growth | Car Accident Lawyer

Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau indicate population growth in Broward County and Palm Beach County, according to the Sun Sentinel.  The article reports that Broward County gained 13,214 residents from July 1, 2008 to July 1, 2009; Palm Beach County gained 10,205 residents within the same time frame.  Although each county grew by less than 1 percent, the increase is significant since recent years experienced decline in population in the counties.  According to South Florida Regrional Planning Council representative Dick Ogburn, the population of Broward County is now equal to 2005 levels, when the county's population reached its peak.  Ogburn also stated that the current numbers indicate that the population is stabilizing in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.  Although "the economy is not getting worse," he says, "unemployment continues to be high."
