If a loved one has been killed tragically, through no fault of their own, it can seem like a horrible position. However, there is something that can be done.
If you have recently lost a loved one due to the negligence of an individual or organization, then you may be considering your options for compensation.
Whenever we lose someone we love, it is always a tremendous blow. Death is one of the hardest things in the world for anyone to deal with, and the blow is made only more devastating when the death was caused by neglect or by willful acts of another person or entity.
If someone you love has died because of negligence, incompetence, or willful neglect of someone else, dealing with the situation can be absolutely devastating.

To honor the memory of a North Miami Beach detective who died in a tragic car accident in 2004, the North Miami Beach Police Department named its new interview room after Detective Orestes "Oreo" Lorenzo, according to the Miami Herald online. The Herald reports that Orestes Lorenzo was driving to his Pembroke Pines home from work five years ago when another vehicle crashed into his unmarked police cruiser, which then ejected the detective. After a week in the hospital, Oreo Lorenzo was taken off life support and died on July 9. On the fifth anniversary of his death, department members unveiled a plaque in Lorenzo's name to other officers, his widow and daughters. According to the article, the idea sparked after the department upgraded its system for interviewing witnesses and suspects--the "digital media" room is now equipped for video and audio recording, and it cost around $30,000 to complete. Since interviewing was one of the last duties "Oreo" performed as an officer before his death, naming the room after him seemed appropriate. Upon hearing the news, the detective's widow Yvette expressed how grateful she was that her husband's memory will live on.

A Palm Beach Countycar accident resulted in fatality when a driver who fled a hit-and-run accident earlier in the day crashed into another car at Southern Blvd. and Lamstein Ln., according to the Sun-Sentinel. The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office reported that 65-year-old John Serratory, of Lake Worth, was navigating a left turn around 5:30 p.m. when a 1995 Chevrolet crashed into the passenger side of Serratory's 1995 Mercury. Following the initial crash, the Chevrolet slammed head-on into a stopped van. The driver of the Chevrolet, 46-year-old Tracy Klinedinst, who had fled an accident scene on Belvedere Rd. earlier that day, attempted to flee the scene on foot but was caught only minutes later with drugs in his possession. Following the multi-vehicle Palm Beach Countyauto accident, the driver of the van had minor injuries, and Serratory died after being transported by helicopter to St. Mary's Medical Center.
